Duty Free>
Synopsis:
A bamboo grove, standing since Confucius' time, had always been a place of lectures and study. For a millennium, the plants here listened to the chanting of scriptures, absorbing spiritual energy. In the Song dynasty, they transformed into human form.
Bamboo engages with the world and carries herself with righteousness, aspiring to one day change the world, as Confucius praised. Chrysanthemum, by contrast, is otherworldly. She desires only to cultivate herself into an immortal, transcending all worldly limitations.
The two women step into the mortal realm, and the only place that truly welcomes them is the brothel. All they know is that many refined scholars gather here—clients who recite poetry and engage in discourse, just as they once did in the academy. The courtesans, too, treat them kindly. And so they stay.
But when they witness the tragic fates of the courtesans and the ugly faces of the high-ranking officials, they begin to understand what the human world truly holds. They start to question: Are the virtues they learned in the academy—benevolence, righteousness, fidelity, humility... —still worth adhering to?

Synopsis:
Auguste has seen Katrina around. She is always outside, always with friends. He notices her because she doesn't belong—not in his neighbourhood, not in his world.
Then one day, she’s being chased by a pack of hooligans, and he pulls her into an alley, into his hiding place, into his life.
He is the son of a political figure, bred a future behind a podium. She is a war refugee who no longer believes in tomorrow. All she wants is to feel something now. He wants to feel anything at all.
Then, techno parties until dawn. Stolen motorcycles on the highway. A friend's apartment, drugs, the first time they fuck—and the first time he catches something that won't wash off. Syphilis.
Too terrified to face his parents, Auguste moves into a cramped apartment with Katrina. For a few months, they're almost happy.
Then the money runs out. He starts dealing—the one thing she begged him not to do. One afternoon, after a deal goes bad, the dealer boss broke one of his legs as punishment.
The same day, Katrina dies in a hospital bed, pushing out the only thing that survives them both: a baby. Leaving Auguste with one working leg, a child he never planned for, and the stain of everything they burned through to feel alive...
